In Waiting

My feet are blistered by a thousand miles
And few sights
Meaningful moments
That write themselves caught up in life's rhythm
The beat that's blooming now
Afresh
Anew
Hot sun
Clean slate
From here we can see forever
From here the world holds only pearls
Branches stretched out overhead
Across the rolling clouds
Blossoms the color of pure sun
And yet another puddle after so many years
The mud hasn't changed
And the world is still here
Nothing has fallen from my screams
And the fire of my sins is small
Here I wait
Impatient
Pensive
Breath held
And here I am ready for the sun to come

Hope

I hate not being
Whatever it is I'm here to be
The not knowing and the why
Be
All that you can be
Be a killing machine
Move on
Move out
Move up
Through the ranks
Through the crowds
Through the glass ceiling
On to
Something
Above and beyond
Nothing
I hope

Noxzema Girls

Noxzema girls get noticed on their knees at thirteen
'Cuz milk does a body good but they don't know what to do with it
And respect is just a song on mom's radio
Older than old school
Unworthy to download and uncool
Bad boys built Ford tough
Before they're two scoops high
And can you hear me now
Across the Gap parking lot
Your mini van parked in the trunk of your SUV
And maybe she's born with it
But she wasn't
And if you don't keep up
The Joneses will evict you
'Cuz if you're not doing it to someone then it's being done to you
In the second coming beatles will take over the world
And every boy's a pimp
And every girl's a thong song
And you can't pinch an inch
On my Ikea decor
But my soul is sinking like a rock
Email me ---
I'll meet you at Starbuck's.
